Yale National Initiative:take a Stab at It: Exploring Character in Julius Caesar

Curated by ACT

This curriculum unit guides young scholars in a deep investigation of the characters in The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, and in developing an appreciation of Shakespeare's talent for language and his insightful understanding of human characteristics. Four characters are described - Marc Antony, Julius Caesar, Marcus Brutus, and Caius Cassius. Activities include an anticipatory activity, a close reading of sections of the play, informal performances of different scenes, a reading response about one of the four characters, and an assessment task.
