Because World War II encompassed most of the globe in one way or another, many pivotal battles and events are not as visible in the history books, leaving veterans of these conflicts feeling overlooked by more famous skirmishes. High school learners take a second look at the Burma campaign and its integral contribution to the war effort of the Far East with a primary source analysis lesson. After reading contemporaneous documents and accounts from those involved in the campaign, pupils create a PowerPoint presentation that argues why remembering Burma is important in a study of World War II.
