In this lesson plan, If I Ran the Zoo, written by Dr. Seuss, is used as the mentor text. Learners will record their favorite adjectives from the mentor text, rank them according to their favorite, and share them. Students will also use interactive buttons to generate superlative, verb, and two prepositional phrase combinations that they enjoy most. Then learners must use this newly generated sentence and "hide it" in the context of a previously-written longer piece. [Requires Adobe Reader.]
