Instructional Ideas

  • Use this Cartesian coordinate grid to graph the parent trigonometric functions, then have learners graph the more involved trigonometric functions using new copies of this template. Changes like stretching, shrinking, moving up and down and side to side, period changes, and amplitude are much easier compared when the grid is consistent.
  • Have students hold the parent and altered graph together and up to the light to compare the two graphs

Classroom Considerations

  • Make extra copies for students to have access to throughout your study of trigonometric functions

Pros

  • Nice big grid, already labeled and ready for a graph

Cons

  • None
