Complex molecules are broken down into smaller molecules during digestion. There are six main molecules that are more commonly found: carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulfur, or CHONPS. This is an outstanding lesson to use when introducing your class to elements for the first time.
