The Lightning Thief Ch. 2-6 Reading Quiz

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Rick Riordan's novel, The Lightning Thief, is a popular and fantasy-filled adventure! If you've chosen it for class reading, you can make sure your class is on schedule with reading check quizzes. The quiz included here is for chapters two through six and includes five questions for each chapter. Consider breaking the quiz up into smaller pieces, since answering 25 short answer questions in one sitting might be overwhelming for some middle schoolers.

Pros

  • Includes 25 total questions that effectively cover the five chapters
  • Requests that quiz-takers use complete sentences

Cons

  • The questions for all five chapters are in one continuous document, sometimes with questions from more than one chapter on a single page; breaking up the document might take some creativity or retyping
  • You will need to add a few questions that require higher-level thinking if you want to move past plot recall
