Root Exploration

Learning about plants can be exciting and highly engaging for children of any age. They read the book What Do Roots Do, discuss vocabulary, explore roots by digging up weeds in the garden, and write a poem answering the five Ws: who, what, when, where, and why. This is an excellent lesson that approaches science in a cross-curricular way.
