Reading Check List: How many things can you read?

Diversify your young readers' at-home reading habits with this activity. This handout consists of a list of 24 different types of reading materials from newspapers and how-to books to science fiction and poetry. The goal is for students to read or be read to from as many different types of texts as possible in one month. Reading is meant to be done at home with a parent. There is also space provided for readers to fill in other kinds of texts.
