Instructional Ideas

  • Assign as homework or as part of a language arts packet to complete over a longer course of time
  • Include in a grammar assessment
  • Use the sentences as a warm-up activity, either by projecting it onto the board or by handing out the worksheets

Classroom Considerations

  • Some of the phrases are colloquial or idiomatic, which may be confusing for English learners
  • Worksheet is designed for ELD classes, but would work for grammar review in a mainstream class
  • Some sentences have two prepositions for kids to fill in

Pros

  • Comes with an answer key

Cons

  • Answers are in italics within the sentences, so it's difficult to assess in a straightforward way
  • Doesn't provide a word bank for kids to reference
