Pbs Learning Media: Walmart Middle School Litercy Initiative

Interactive, student-paced lessons on such literacy skills as categorizing, comparing and contrasting, summarizing, evaluating, determining cause and effect, using text features, connecting, inferring, sequencing, understanding problems and solutions, and using background knowledge. Lessons include topics in the content areas of language arts, science, and social studies. Each lesson includes videos, reading and note taking, and a writing assignment with leveled student choices.
