The first excerpt is from a 1644 account of Henry Hudson's descriptions of the new land he saw on his 1609 voyage. The second, from the same source, describes the first interactions between natives and Europeans. The third excerpt discusses the economic possibilities of New Netherland, as understood between 1621-1631. The fourth one by this same writer talks about the favorable climate.
