Fangs, capes, pale skin, and beady eyes! High schoolers investigate the tropes associated with vampires by examining excerpts from stories and films. They then create a timeline that reveals how the depictions of vampires have evolved (devolved?) due to changing times and the writers' experiences. Mesmerizing!

Instructional Ideas

  • Preview the entire lesson, as well as all the videos, to determine if appropriate for your classroom and in line with your district's policies

  • Print the cards on heavy paper and laminate them to permit reuse
