How can you describe heat of fusion in a way the class understands and relates the importance of this concept to present day issues? In this third lesson of the series, learners conduct an experiment, demonstrating the flow of heat through a solution, and determine at what point that transfer halts. They also perform data collection for heat of water fusion and figure out the amount of heat necessary to melt an ice cube.

  • Visit a local zoo or area where cold-bodied animals are kept, allowing students to witness these creatures up close
