Completing a job application and sitting for an interview are essential parts of the job search process. High schoolers receive guidance as they fill out a job application and participate in mock interviews to prepare. They also access a link to a Career Connections website to learn about preparing for interviews, appropriate dress, and more.

  • Before the lesson, provide class members with the interview questions and have them complete them as homework
  • Invite a respected member of the community familiar with the class and have them describe how they prepare for the interview for their current job
  • Laminate the "Ideal Applicant" handout to permit reuse

  • Instructors must locate and copy blank job application forms
  • Copies are also required of two handouts
  • Class members need access to devices with internet
