Students will analyze four historical events: The Annexation of U.S. Southwest, The Mexican Revolution, The Great Depression, and World War II. They determine how each event affected immigration to the U.S. from Mexico and Central America or led to a change in immigration policies of the U.S. government. Students investigate how immigration and subsequent contact with two or more cultures shape an individual's identity.
