Eighth graders are able to understand the concepts of the law of conservation of energy and the principles of kinetic and potential energy, including understanding the principles behind the law and it's various applications. They differentiate between potential and kinetic energy. Students identify situations where kinetic energy is transformed into potential energy and vice versa.
