Keeping Safe (911)

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Students explore "emergency safety" rules through a series of activities led by the teacher. In this safety lesson, students practice dialing 911 on a paper or play phone after listening to the interactive book It's Time to Call 911: What to do in an Emergency. Students identify situations in which it is and is not appropriate to call 911. Songs and poems based on this theme, as well as an additional resource list, add a literacy component to this lesson.
