Every book has a few great characters, but James and the Giant Peach is the only one whose characters travel in a piece of fruit. The class creates T-charts for the main characters of the novel, while reading the book. They write actions or words that describe each character, being sure to add the page number for reference. They use the actions and dialog to infer the personality of each character. This is a great way to read a book, teach note-taking skills, analyze text, and understand character development.
