This is the home site for the landmark town of New Harmony, Indiana, which is the site of two attempted communal livings. Both the Harmonists, from 1814-1825, and the Owenites, from 1825-1826, called New Harmony home in hopes of a great communal lifestyle. Today New Harmony remains a small settlement rich in culture and history.
