How bad is the opioid crisis in America? Has it gotten worse in the last few decades? Why? High schoolers delve into these questions with a thorough and thoughtful lesson from The New York Times on heroin prescription opioids. Starting with a short video about a young mother and her history of opioid addiction, including four overdoses, the lesson guides learners through an investigation of the magnitude of the current opioid epidemic in all 50 states of America.
