A class discussion begins a two-part lesson about gratitude and the environment. In part one, learners watch a video then share their feelings about its most memorable moment. Delving deep into the meaning of gratitude, scholars create an artistic representation of their favorite way to express it. Significant quotes make for a thought-provoking conversation. In part two, participants combine the feeling of gratitude with their awareness of the environment. Small groups research peer-led projects designed to help the environment. They choose a topic and create a plan to make a positive difference. A culminating activity challenges class members to express their gratitude for the environment.
