Dust is everywhere around us; it's unavoidable. But what exactly is dust and are certain locations dustier than others? These are the questions students try to answer in an interesting scientific investigation. Working independently or in small groups, young scientists gather and analyze samples of dust, comparing the particles they collect with other known materials in order to determine the composition of dust. This fun activity opens the eyes of students to the microscopic world we live in and raises awareness about dangers of air pollution.
