Concepts

linear equations, graphing, graphs, slope-intercept form, standard form, point-slope form, direct variation, technology resources

Instructional Ideas

  • Lead a discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of each of the linear forms

Classroom Considerations

  • The class should be familiar with finding the slope of a line
  • Pupils need to understand that a line can be denoted algebraically in several different equivalent forms

Pros

  • Includes independent practice for each form of linear equation
  • The objectives provide an outline of what the teacher needs to cover during instruction

Cons

  • The lesson plan does not provide a great deal of detail on instructional methods
