Education at Harp Week: The Civil War Illustrations Activity

A set of three activities where students explore and analyze illustrations and cartoons from Harper's Weekly magazine that showed what life was like in the United States during the Civil War. The first activity looks at why the North won the Civil War. The second has students analyzing an illustration or cartoon that depicts life during the war. The third has students write an essay about the Civil War, using the illustrations and cartoons as their source of information.
