Easter Egg Surprise

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Young readers describe objects by using describing words. After reviewing the five senses, they use their senses to gain information about an object. Then as homework, they write three descriptive words about a mystery object and place it in a plastic egg with their name. The next day, learners take turns coming to the front of the room when their egg is picked and having the rest of the class try to guess their object. This is a great opening activity for a descriptive writing unit!
