Students consider what it was like for black regiments during the Civil War. In this American Civil War lesson, students view segments of "Glory," and "The Descendants of the 29th Regiment." Students discuss the conditions of black regiments in the war to other regiments and keep journals that reveal their insights regarding the lesson. As a culminating activity, students write essays about the hardships of the soldiers.
