Why are some so resistant to change? The status quo is often to blame for a lack of forward movement in society. Following the events of World War I, women in America suddenly had a voice—and were going to use it. Scholars use the second lesson in an eight-part unit to discover the role of women in World War I. They research primary documents from the time period and finalize their thoughts in a written essay. Taking notes in an evidence chart and participating in class discussion helps them further explore how this led to a larger role for women in society.
