Ceramics: A Vessel Into History

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Students evaluate the work of their peers using the criteria for value and meaning they developed. In this ceramics lesson, students evaluate their peers’ vessels in their journals by responding to the given questions about the art criteria. Students retend they are an archeologist or art historian living in the future and make speculations about the values of the culture that created it. Students discuss their speculations and compare them to getty.edu.
