An industrial designer shares his examples of products that are designed so well that it would be pointless to tinker any further with them. Teachers should be aware that one product is a handgun. Many of the others are examples of simple everyday objects such as a stapler, a paperclip, and post-it notes. The list could be used as a stimulus to gather objects for an activity where students examine them and discuss why they are well designed.
