Originally designed by an American language teacher teaching in a public Japanese junior high, this lesson could easily be used for any beginning or intermediate level ESL class. With this plan, your class will review two useful, but unrelated topics: animal sounds and passive voice. Open the lesson with a fun and engaging game in which groups race to correctly identify animals and the sounds they make in English. Then have pupils complete a series of three mini-lessons aimed at getting them to read, understand, write, and speak in passive voice sentence constructions.
