Show kids that addition has real-life applications as they add up measurements and money. There are some examples here demonstrating regrouping and including units in an answer. They complete 20 measurement addition problems, each with two double-digit whole-number addends. There are four equations at the end which have scholars add money amounts with decimals, however all of the decimals are zero. Use these problems to begin a discussion about when learners may need to use addition in real life.
