A New Set of Numbers

Curated and Reviewed by Lesson Planet

Sixth graders add and subtract positive and negative integers. In this integers math lesson, 6th graders review the number line as a class, with students representing the numbers and moving in a positive or negative direction to find their new value. Then in groups students complete a similar activity, drawing steps to take from a bag and moving in the given direction.
