Vaccine Makers Project: Elementary Lessons

Two lessons introduce youngsters to vaccines and vaccine makers. The first lesson in the module asks learners to research and complete a graphic organizer that showcases the differences between a virus and bacteria. Groups then research vaccine heroes. Class members share their findings and create a timeline that showcases the plethora of scientists that have contributed to vaccine development over the years. To end the unit, participants write a brief essay about one of the many scientists discussed.
