The J. Paul Getty Museum presents a series of sequential lessons designed for primary school children that focuses on the ways artists depict or express feelings of caring and working together in works of art. To begin, young scholars analyze a piece of art and discuss which emotions it portrays. Next, pupils investigate drawings of couples and the techniques artists use to convey emotions such as caring, love, and togetherness. Learners then examine works that use space, color, shape, and lines to communicate the idea of working together. To end the unit, young artists create a celebratory hat using what they have learned to expresses their own feelings.
