All the work I'd done to imagine it and design it on paper had allowed me to miss the fact that it was nice, but white, cold and not great for all cooking moments. I had a brainwave and bought one nice butcher block. Then I bought a second, then a third. VOILA! I was never going to move them again and now had the counter top of my dreams with plenty of space for cooking and serving, AND it was also easy to clean when the time came. I've now done the same thing on my slim side counter tops and I used to do this in my small apartment on my stove top. SO, don't just have a cutting board that you need to put away when done. Get yourself some nice butcher blocks, tile them on your countertop and leave them there. You'll be glad you did. You can find Boos butcher blocks [HERE](\n
