Her latest book, Saints and Liars, explores the stories of Americans who traveled to Europe to provide relief and rescue efforts during World War II. Inspired by her research on Children with a Star, she discovered the role of Quakers and other faith-based organizations in rescuing Jews. The book highlights the significant contributions of women in relief work, the unpredictable nature of rescue efforts, and the impact of chance and individual action in life-or-death situations. Through micro-histories, Dwork examines figures like Martha Sharp, a Unitarian who risked her life to lead refugees out of Nazi-occupied territories, illustrating the courage and complexity of these humanitarian efforts.\n
